Rafe is a designer specialising in XR and AI, with 5 years experience at multiple award-winning design studios. I've built prototypes, created films, developed experiences, and more.

Over the last 6 years I've been exploring and building within the intersection of art and technology. After graduating with a masters in product design I freelanced for some time before joining Seymour Powell's creative technology team, building tools and experiance's for VR projects like Virgin Galactic's spaceship design. A year later I joined Liquid City, a new studio led by Keiichi Mastuda with a small, highly talented team coming from tech companies like Leap motion, Microsoft and Meta. Liquid City focused on prototyping for XR and AI like Wisp and Wol. It was here that I found a keen interest in the intersection of AI and XR. Since then I've taken some time to focus on freelance as well as exploring my own projects like Vega.

What dirves me

What drives me

1. Discovery

2. Learning

3. Progress

Discovery is the foundation of all humanity’s greatest successes. From realizing we weren’t the center of the universe to breakthroughs like antibiotics and personal computing, and even the self-discoveries we make throughout life, discovery drives progress.

The thing I find coolest about humans is our somewhat unique ability to learn, adapt, and change. Unlike many other species, our brains are uniquely plastic, able to learn and evolve. This is perhaps what I find most interesting about AI as well: a fluid, ever-changing technology that can adapt and surprise us.

I often hear people say the world is in a sorry state. While there’s some truth to that, it’s easy to overlook the tremendous progress we’ve made in our short time on Earth. Our discoveries and inventions in science and technology have made this an exciting place to live, and I’m optimistic that we’ll continue to solve our problems and I aim to be a part of that.

I often hear people saying the world is in a sorry state. While in many respects this is true, we have made huge amounts of progress in the very short time we've been on planet Earth. Our discoveries and inventions in science and technology are incredibly exciting. While I'm around, I hope to help push us towards a better world.

Discovery is the foundation of all humanity's great successes. Discovering we weren't the center of the universe, discovering antibiotics, personal computing, and the self-discoveries we make as we live. Discovering that we love cooking or forming a new friendship. It's incredibly exciting to me what’s out there to uncover, both personally and in terms of the tools and technologies that can improve our lives and the world around us.
