This short personal project focused on creating heads-up display (HUD) concepts for a sci-fi combat drone. I aimed to broaden my skill set by exploring graphic element creation and improving my 2D design skills using tools like Illustrator and After Effects. These HUDs can be used for concept design in film or games.

The project had a clear scope and output, making for a clean and focused process. It was a refreshing contrast to much of my other work, which often involves many moving parts and uncertain outcomes at the beginning.

I created four different designs for the HUD, each adapting based on the drone's mode: dormant, analyzing, scouting, and combat. This approach allowed for artistic expression, giving each state a distinct feel.

In Maya, I created renders exploring a glass panel for the HUD element, transforming it into a control board or panel. I aimed to achieve high realism by adding details like fingerprints and dust.
